Dave Youmans is a Senior Mechanical Engineer and technical leader whose career spans renewable energy, robotics, and advanced manufacturing. He has built and led multidisciplinary teams tackling ambitious engineering challenges, including work at Alphabet’s X “moonshot factory,” where he led hardware and manufacturing teams for a general-purpose robotics platform. Dave develops solutions to complex, ambiguous problems with a balance of creativity, rigorous engineering, and a focus on building real, scalable products that work in the world. He has worked across the full arc of product development—from early-stage R&D through large-scale manufacturing—and remains deeply involved in design, engineering, and techno-economics. Dave has advised start-ups, investors, and established companies on technology strategy, hardware development, and manufacturing. He is dedicated to advancing technologies that make a positive impact on people and the planet.
Dave holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego.
